Dan & JoAnn's Road Runner Page

A fun project I have been waiting for, detailing an already somewhat restored bird.
Our 1968 2 door hardtop. 383 auto. rebuilt from the ground up, now has 52,000 miles on it,
we bought it at an auction one sunny day, all I have done to the outside is add the wheels and redlines...
.and now continue with the details.....

(I think from a police car...) with G60's on it, smaller in front, looked cool but not original...sorry, I'm trying to be a purist.
I replaced them (but still have them) with NOS Magnum rims and Michelin (Coker) red lines which only have 6,000 on them.
Here are the rebuild photos, all done before I bought it. 1994. I bought it June 1999 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. It is originally from
Ontario, Canada where it was built. SIGHTS AND SOUNDS...CLICK HERE and on picture below

It has a light share of nicks and such, but NO RUST, NO body damage. Neither the paint or the interior are original, but it looks great..
I planned to do many things to finish her up but it's time for other things...I have loads of extras, electronic ignition system,
new window trim felt, paint for the engine, a stock lightly used rear window (just in case), same thing for driver's and passengers'
door glass (some scratching, just annoying), new door locks, new road runner metal side emblems (nice and clean).
It has exhaust dumps on it and a new Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Absolutely never fails to start and run great. I think there's a different cam
and rear end gears as it just is a hunch. The former owner used to race on weekends but I don't think he raced this one
but a few times..

383 engine- numbers matching, rebuilt in 1994
